Families experience change throughout every stage of life. At times, communication breaks
down, conflict increases, relationships become strained, or one person’s difficulties begin
affecting the family as a whole.
Divorce, blended-family adjustments, grief, secrecy, emotional neglect, changing family
roles, and other stressful circumstances can disrupt familiar patterns and create tension
within the family.
Family counseling provides a supportive environment where family members can better understand how they are relating to one another and how individual concerns may be affecting the larger family.
At ICC, counseling can help families explore patterns contributing to conflict or
disconnection, strengthen communication, better understand one another’s perspectives, and develop healthier ways of responding to challenges together.
Counseling is tailored to the family’s specific situation, responding to what they are facing and what they hope to work toward. When desired, faith and spiritual values important to the family may also be thoughtfully incorporated.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. Sometimes the first step is simply having a conversation.
